Splatoon 3 has a wide range of weapons – more so than ever before. Never before in the series has there been so much choice in how you can tackle each match. Whether you’re looking for something to paint a large range of land in Turf War, or maybe you want a weapon that has a powerful kick in ranked battles. The choice can be overwhelming, especially for new players.
One weapon many gravitate towards is the Sploosh-o-matic – a truly powerful tool that utilizes the best of both worlds in Splatoon 3. If you want to cover a large area of land, this is a perfect choice, but it also packs the precision to make taking down opponents a breeze. However, much like every weapon in Splatoon 3, it takes a bit of getting used to. If you’re looking to make this your main weapon of choice, here’s everything you need to know about using the Splash-o-matic in Splatoon 3.

How To Use Splash-O-Matic In Splatoon 3
First of all, you’re going to want to unlock the Splash-o-matic, which does so at level 16 in Splatoon 3. With that prerequisite complete, you’ll be able to equip the most useful weapon in the game.
As mentioned before, the main draw of the Splash-o-matic is its near-perfect accuracy. While every other weapon has a degree of randomness where the paint shots will fall, you’re more than likely to hit where you’re directly aiming.
It operates as a machine, similarly to the Splattershot and Sploosh-o-matic, and is primarily used for close to mid-range combat. As with every other weapon, it also comes bundled with a sub-weapon and a special ability to use.
The sub-weapon can be used with the R button and the Splash-o-matic is the Burst Bomb. This is a pretty straightforward side weapon to have in your arsenal and operates as a traditional grenade. It doesn’t pack the most powerful of punches, but covers a lot of ground and can quickly be recharged to fire again.
As for the special ability, players can expect to use the Crab Tank, which can be used once the bar has been filled and both thumbsticks have been pressed in. This devastating special ability places players inside a tank, which is versatile enough to move across the map and fire deadly blasts of paint at your enemies and ground.
Splatoon 3 Splash-O-Matic Stats
The Splash-o-matic in Splatoon 3 has pretty stark contrasts in its stats, and while at first glance it may not seem too powerful, the trade-off for having perfect accuracy more than makes up for it. If you’re interested to know its exact stats, check them out below:
- Range: 42 / 100
- Damage: 28 / 100
- Fire rate: 75 / 100
While the damage output doesn’t seem like anything to get excited about, the fact that its accuracy is near-perfect means you’ll be landing more shots and committing more damage to an opponent or covering the exact piece of land you wish to cover.
Best Gear Abilities For Splash-O-Matic In Splatoon 3
When equipping your clothes in Splatoon 3, you’re going to want to keep in mind your use of the Splash-o-matic. Each piece of gear comes with various abilities which assist you in battle. As expected, some work better than others, meaning you need to strategically plan your loadout.
We recommend gear that specializes in keeping your ink levels high. The reason being is that you’re never going to want to hit low ink in a fight, and you’ll be needing to cover as much ground as possible. While the Splash-o-matic is great for accuracy, the fact it doesn’t randomize where the paint shoots mean you won’t be covering as much ground as you were before. To combat this, we recommend the following gear abilities:
- Ink Saver: Decreases the amount of ink consumed by your main weapon.
- Ink Recovery Up: Increases Ink-tank refill rate.
- Quick Respawn: Reduces respawn time after getting splatted repeatedly without splatting any opponents.
With all these details in mind, you should be well on your way to becoming a pro with the Splash-o-matic in Splatoon 3.
