Last week we told you that the notorious hacker group known as ‘Lizard Squad’ had promised to take down the Xbox Live service on Christmas day, claiming that it would be taken offline forever.
Then they claimed to have taken down the PlayStation Network soon after, a claim that seemed true as players across the world struggled to get online.
Understandably many of users of both the Xbox Live and PSN services took to online social media to voice their frustrations with the actions of the widely despised group.
Well now it seems that they’ve been thwarted by none other than another hacker group calling themselves ‘Finest Squad.’
We have successfully removed LizardSquad from Twitter. Your Welcome fellow gamers. We will make sure their IRC stays offline. #FinestSquad

The ‘White Hat’ hacker group seems to be pretty harmless for the most part, at least they aren’t looking to agitate gamers by attacking the services run by Sony and Microsoft, but instead they seem to be actively helping out the corporate giants, going as far as informing the duo of their network vulnerabilities.
We’ve submitted vulnerabilities we found on Xbox Live and Playstation Network to their administrators. Hopefully they will take action. — The Finest (@FinestSquad) December 14, 2014
