Ever since the Xbox One was first revealed people have mocked its rather, shall we say, blocky form factor. For some the Xbox One resembles an old Beta-max player from decades gone by whilst others find the simplistic design easy on the eye.
So it’s only natural that players would start enquiring about a slim version of the console, something that is more than likely underway at Microsoft as we speak.
We’ve previously reported that Microsoft may be working on a hardware revision for their latest console thanks to a couple of job postings.
However, today we’re reporting to you that the platform holder is going on an all-out hiring spree. Who’re they looking for? Technicians, more specifically hardware technicians to work within the Xbox gaming division of the firm.
Microsoft has posted not one, not two, but several career adverts over on their official careers website, many of which require technical expertise when it comes to hardware design. To be in with a chance you need to be able to design, create, maintain and enhance multilayer circuit boards, something that you’ll find in Xbox consoles, should you ever find the desire to see the inner workings of your console.
Microsoft have a big event coming later this month where talk of Windows 10 and Xbox will be the highlights, so maybe we’ll hear something of an Xbox Slim then?
It’s also entirely possible that Microsoft may be looking to revise the almost decade-old Xbox 360, something not so unthinkable considering the platform holder is looking to support the aging platform.
Then again, we may just have to wait until E3 2015. Most major announcements are presented to spectators during the biggest industry show of the year, so if there is to be an Xbox One slim this year, it’s most likely going to be announced then.
Would you ditch your current Xbox One in favour of a slimmer, younger model? Or does the form not matter to you? Let us know down in the comments section below.
