You may have heard of the upcoming first-person mystery game Firewatch, a little game with big production values from San Francisco-based studio named Campo Santo.
The game is being made by some of the people behind hit games such as BioShock II, The Walking Dead: Season 1, Brutal Legend and Mask of the Ninja, so there’s some definite talent behind it.
The game doesn’t have a release date as of yet, but the studio hopes to release it in 2015 on the Steam platform and are actively pursuing options to get the game out on consoles.
We’ve not seen much of Firewatch, but from what has already been shown it looks to be an interesting concept and really does invoke the sense of exploration that made Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4 such stunning titles.
In a recent podcast, one of the game’s developers was asked if the title would be shown at this year’s GDC, to which he answered:
“Um, I don’t know what I can say about when we’re showing things and where, and that’s really terrible of me to say, but I mean it’s gonna be shown at some point, somewhere.”
So we’ll be seeing more of it soon, but the when and the where remains a mystery, unfortunately.
Still, we’re looking to the exciting project and will continue to follow the progress of the title whilst keeping you up to date here at The Games Cabin.
Check out the short reveal trailer down below and take in the awesome visuals which are all done in the Unity Engine.
