Last month Activision and Treyarch showed off a couple of minutes of the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops III, and despite it only being a relatively short clip people have gone mental for the next installment in the yearly franchise.
First we got a few teases via Snapchat and a teaser trailer, then the official reveal was released. The reveal wasn’t the explosive bullet-orgy that usually sends adrenaline rushing through your toes, but it seemed to be enough to get people interested in the game: it’s currently the top PS4 and Xbox One title on Amazon UK.
Black Ops III doesn’t release until November 6th, yet those eager Brits just cant seem to get enough of the shooter.
This will undoubtedly be pleasing news for Activision and the company investors who will be hoping for a fat paycheck come Christmas time, but it also shows that a large portion of the gaming public are still willing to pre-order a game without even getting to see any proper gameplay.
Update: Black Ops 3 is also among the top sellers on the popular PC gaming service Steam. Not surprising in itself, granted. The fact it’s a ‘top seller’ in the JRPG section however is just a little bit daft.
