Back in 2013 during Microsoft’s E3 press conference we learned of a new game being made exclusively for the Xbox One and PC platforms: Below, a top down adventure taking place in a randomly generated world that was described by Xbox Chief Phil Spencer as a “creative take on the roguelike gameplay.”
Since the initial announcement we’ve not really heard much from Microsoft or the game’s developer Capybara games, at least not on the Below front. Between the announcement of Below and now, Capybara games has been busy very busy with the release of the cracking Super Time Force on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One along with Super Time Force Ultra for the PC.
Answering some fan questions on Twitter, Spencer confirmed that Capybara’s Xbox One/PC exclusive Below is still being worked on, while the developers themselves also stated that they’re hard at work on the title and that we’ll learn more about the upcoming game “soon.” It’s highly likely, then, that we’ll get our first proper look at Below during this year’s E3 and most probably during Microsoft’s Xbox One conference.
Capybara’s Super Time Force Ultra was also announced a while back for the PS Vita and PS4 with Sony exec Shuhei Yoshida being added as a playable character and yes – it’s still coming this year, in fact, the release date is “coming shortly” according to the developers. Could this be another E3 announcement? It’d certainly give Sony a reason to mention the ‘legacy’ Vita platform…
