Ubisoft might not be releasing a fully-fledged Assassin’s Creed game this year, but at least there’s a collection of three games to keep hardcore Creed fans ticking over.
Ubisoft recently announced the Assassin’s Creed Chronicles Trilogy for the PS Vita, Xbox One, PC, and PS4. The trilogy has since been rated by the ESRB ratings authority which makes note of some of the series’ trademark violence, as well as a few additions. How about a sniper rifle? Yep, in one of the Assassin’s Creed Chronicles games (it’s not stated which, though we assume it’d be the one set in Russia) you kill enemy solider with a sniper rifle. Seems to be a bit too modern for the series, but we’ll let it slide as they’re not considered “mainstream” releases.
There’s also some potty mouth language in there, too, as well as the normal gratuitous violence. Par for the course, then.
“This is a collection of three action-platfomers in which players assume the role of assassins as they fight against the Templar Order. As players traverse various environments, they use blades, swords, and firearms to kill enemy soldiers and human targets. Players can also use stealth attacks (e.g., neck breaking; stabbing enemies from behind) to dispatch characters. In some sequences, players use a targeting crosshair to kill enemy soldiers with a sniper rifle. Quick blood-splatter effects occur throughout the game; blood stains also appear on the ground. The word “sh*t” is heard in the dialogue.”
The full collection is due out on February 9th. You can buy your copy here from Amazon for the RRP of $29.99. Ouch, bit steep, innit?
