Ubsioft’s Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is due out later this year, well, it’s still a good few months away but that time will pass us by quicker than we realize.
As we all expected, Ubisoft bas begun building the hype, though rather slowly, for the latest installment in the open-world action/adventure/stealth/sometimes-piratey series. Despite the marketing efforts and (annoyingly) frequent emails reminding us that yet another Assassin’s Creed will be releasing, some details have yet to be disclosed to the general public. Thankfully, then, some eager fans have taken it upon themselves to get the ask the questions that we’re just too darn lazy to ask.
When asked if Assassin’s Creed Syndicate would feature any sort of weather system that includes rain and snow as an example, the developers stated “yes we have the weather system as well: fog and rain for example.” At least by having rain included it shows they are going for authenticity… Got to love that British weather.
The game will also feature a full day/night cycle, or at least it has been implied by Ubisoft Quebec. The developers were recently asked if the game would have a full day/night cycle, to which they replied with “yes we have the “Time of day” covering the whole 24h cycle.” By the sounds of it, the “time of day” may be dependant on what’s going on in the game, much like in last year’s Assassin’s Creed Unity.
Speaking of which… Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will be carrying forward more than a few of its predecessors traits, as has been made evident by the short gameplay demo we saw during the initial reveal last month. One such feature doesn’t actually affect gameplay as such, but it will make the game look hella’ good – the global lighting system. According to Ubisoft, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will be using the same global illumination system as the one found in Assassin’s Creed Unity.
Despite Unity’s problems, it did look pretty damn fine thanks to the superb lighting that coated the game-world, so it’s good to see that Ubi Quebec will be using the same model, though whether it gets touched up or toned down in the final release is something we’ll have to wait and see for ourselves.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is set to release on the PS4, Xbox One and PC this October. Pre orders are now open with Amazon US and Amazon EU ready and waiting to take your orders.
