We’re not overly fond of boring trailers, yet Warner Bros. Entertainment, DC, and Telltale Games have announced their latest Batman game with just that: A slightly boring trailer.
Telltale Games is best known for its story-driven point-and-click games like The Walking Dead, Back to the Future, Minecraft: Story Mode, and Tales from the Borderlands. The latest property to be tackled is Batman, traditionally a very active character. There’s no release date yet, nor is there any mention of console specifics, but we do know that it’s coming to home consoles, PC/Mac, and mobile devices.
“At Telltale, we’ve been honored to bring our unique approach to interactive storytelling to some of the biggest entertainment franchises in the world, and we’re excited to announce that we’ll soon be exploring what it means to be Batman in an all-new series starting next year,” said Kevin Bruner, Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Games. “This iteration of Batman will give fans a first-hand opportunity to dive deeper into the complex life and mind of Bruce Wayne, the duality of his own identity, and the struggle of responsibility in saving a city overcome with corruption and villainy.”
Telltale has lost a few fans since branching away from The Walking Dead, as many feel that the studio is simply taking on too much work. Telltale isn’t the biggest studio in the business, but its got so many different projects all running in the background that it’s hard not to be worried about corners being cut to meet deadlines. It also doesn’t help that their game engine is clearly showing its age. Still, Batman is a well-known franchise and is sure to pique the interest of Bat-fans across the world.
Here’s the trailer. Go nuts…
