It’s always nice when retailers push the bundles hard; we usually end up with a nice little package with great games that we’d probably not bother buying under normal circumstances. Case in point: your host here bought an Xbox 360 bundle a few years ago that had Red Dead Redemption and Toy Story 3. Ordinarily, that Toy Story 3 game wouldn’t have gotten a second look in passing, but it turned out to be one of only six games this author has ever fully gamerscored.
Still, when money is a bit tighter and you know that this one big purchase is going to be it for a couple of months, it’s better to know exactly what you’re getting into. Not everyone would find their Toy Story 3 in a bundle.
We’re happy to tell you that online retailer Zavvi has those kinds of buyers in mind with their latest offer; but there’s a catch. Of course there’s a catch. There’s always a catch.
One game in the bundle is pre-determined by the retailer: FIFA 16. The other game? That’s all up to you. There’s some real crackers, too.
Here’s the games that are eligible:
Call of Duty: Black Ops III
Skylanders SuperChargers: 2015
Forza Motorsport 6 – Day 1 Edition
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege
Just Cause 3 – Day One Edition
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate
WWE 2K16
Star Wars: Battlefront (Exclusive Pre-order DLC)
Tom Clancy’s: The Division
Halo 5: Guardians
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Need for Speed
Fallout 4
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
It’s worth noting that you’ll get the Xbox One and FIFA 16 sent straight away, but if you order something that isn’t yet released (Fallout 4, Battlefront etc) then they will be sent out accordingly.
It’s a great deal and if you’re a FIFA fan and know you’d end up picking up the footy sim, it’s all gravy.
