It was recently announced that Castle Crashers Remastered for the Xbox One would come with a very cheeky discount for those who previously owned the Xbox 360 version of the game.
If you owned the Xbox 360 version of Castle Crashers then you would be entitled to download the Xbox One’s remastered edition completely free of charge. Not bad, right? It’s actually a nice move that we wish was employed more liberally among publishers, but alas, it’s not to be.
However, the game has since gone live on Xbox One, but there’s no discount being applied to owners of the Xbox 360 edition. If you do own the original release, it’s probably best to hold off on the Xbox One version until the store is updated to reflect the discount that should be added.
The game has only recently gone live on the Xbox One store, so perhaps it’s a case of just waiting for the discount to resolve on Microsoft’s servers. Either way, we’ll keep you updated and let you know when it’s time to add another game to your Xbox One collection.
[Update] Castle Crashers Remastered’s developer, The Behemoth, has tweeted that it is looking into when the loyalty discount will become available. [Update 2] Castle Crashers is now free for those who own the Xbox 360 digital version. Yippee!
