PC players and Android owners have been able to play the brilliantly puzzling The Talos Principle for a long time now. PS4 players have been promised a release date of October 13th, 2015. Oddly enough, there’s been no official word on an Xbox One version, something that just doesn’t sit right with us.
However, the ESRB ratings authority has recently rated the game ahead of its upcoming console release later this year, and in doing so it has revealed that the game is coming to the Xbox One. Or might be, rather. It’s not concrete, but the ESRB don’t usually make such glaring errors.
The ratings board has also listed the game as releasing on iOS devices, too. Below is the description of the game from the ESRB’s website.
“This is a puzzle game in which players assume the role of an android that must navigate themed environments full of spacial puzzles. From a first-person perspective, players must move objects to unlock doors, bypass obstacles, and avoid various hazards (e.g., stationary gun turrets and exploding drones). Robotic drones can be destroyed, resulting in mild explosions; realistic gunfire is heard as turrets fire at players.”
We’ve reached out to CroTeam and Devolver Digital to see if this is a case of the ESRB’s resident Xbox One fan making his wishes known, or if The Talos Principle is indeed coming to Microsoft’s beefy machine.
