About bloody time…
Cyberpunk 2077 could finally be getting its next-gen update today, at least that’s the running theory among fans. It’s not without merit, though, as CD Projekt Red has announced a special live stream event that will take place later on today. Couple that with the fact that players on Xbox Series X|S are starting to get the X|S symbol on their game’s tile, and we have the makings of a theory worthy of consideration.
CD Projekt Red will host a live stream today at 4PM CET (10AM EST/3PM GMT) and it’s expected that we’ll get a look at the next-gen Cyberpunk 2077 before, or possibly as it drops on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
So, choom, how ’bout a date? We’ll talk things, y’know.
You’re in? Preem!
Let’s meet tomorrow, Feb 15th, at 4PM CET, at the usual place: https://t.co/y8iUIM0gBv.

Cyberpunk 2077 was released last year to decent reviews from critics, but many felt the review embargo surrounding the game was underhanded and sly; all pre-release reviews were done using PC code where the game ran favourably, but when it came time for players to jump into Free City for themselves, almost every player encountered problems. This was particularly evident on PS4 and Xbox One, with the last-gen machines turning in poor performance, low-quality assets, slow loading, and more glitches than you can wave a cybernetic arm at.
Those playing on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S via backwards compatibility had it a little better due to the new consoles being able to brute force better performance, but it still left a lot to be desired. Hopefully, the next-gen version will help clear some of the goop surrounding the game’s controversy. Heck, I might even play it myself…
