Dead Island 2 on Xbox Game Pass would only make sense. It will build excitement among the gaming community and will allow you to easily fill in the other two spots in your squad. However, is Dead Island 2 on Game Pass a reality like Square Enix’s Outriders?
- Horizon: Zero Dawn studio Guerrilla Games actually hired Dead Island 2’s director in 2015. Maybe that helped cause Dead Island 2’s massive delay?
Can you play Dead Island 2 on Xbox Game Pass?
Dead Island 2 on Game Pass would significantly help players of the game find others to play with. More accessibility means a larger player base, more often than not. Unfortunately, Dead Island 2 will not be on Xbox Game Pass from day one. This could definitely change, but currently, there are no plans to bring this zombie open-world game to Xbox Game Pass.
To be honest, it makes sense that Dead Island 2 won’t be on Game Pass, knowing the extensive delays (and likely cost) on the project by Deep Silver. The publisher likely needs to make its money back.
- The Dead Island Definitive Edition is a great way to catch up with the series.
Dead Island 2 alternatives on Xbox Game Pass
Not even the first Dead Island or Riptide is on Xbox Game Pass, but there are plenty of zombie games available on the service.
Back 4 Blood is a compelling first-person shooter that has you teaming up with three pals or strangers to take on waves of zombies. It works similarly to the Left 4 Dead series as you pick up weapons, take on multiple variants of zombies, and try to survive the level. It’s a thrill if you have friends with you along the way.
A hidden gem on Xbox Game Pass would be Zombie Army 4: Dead War. This horror game is set in World War 2, and you’ll be fighting off the undead with all manner of weapons. The game is developed by the Sniper Elite studio Rebellion, so using long-range guns feels incredibly satisfying. In some cases, you’ll see the bullet puncture a zombie in slow-motion.
