We’ve already been fairly certain that a remastering of Dead Island and it’s dodgy sequel were in the works, what with leaked retail listing, rating and so on, but now it’s been officially announced by publisher Deep Silver.
The Definitive Collection includes the original Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide along with a separate 16-bit endless runner, Dead Island: Retro Revenge. The regular games will release with improved graphics, textures – the usual stuff for a remaster. Hopefully the millions of bugs and glitches have gone the way of the Dodo because they were bloody awful.
You’ll be able to buy either one of the full games separately for around $19.99/£14.99, or you can get both with the mini-game included for $39.99/£29.99.
So, when does this remaster package release? May 31 for Xbox One and PS4, and both consoles will also receive retail editions of the collection, as well as being made available digitally.
