Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is literally just hours away from releasing, but don’t go ditching your copy of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes just yet.
If you boot up your console today you’ll find that there’s an update ready to download and install for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. The new update allows players to move some of their save data into Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
To get your save data in to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain you’ll need to boot up your copy of Ground Zeroes, install the update then on the main menu select ‘save data upload’ which will then take your data and store it in the magical cloud where it will wait to be downloaded in to your new The Phantom Pain game.
It’s not mandatory (obviously) but it is pretty useful for getting some staff member in to Mother Base, so it’s worth doing if you’re looking to get the most out of your new game.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain release on September 1st, though many players are already playing thanks to copies being sold well before the release date.
[Update] Here’s an image showing exactly what carries over from Ground Zeroes to The Phantom Pain. There’s also word that you’ll be able to use the following skins:Sneaking Suit
Gray Fox
Raiden
Solid Snake
