Dragon’s Dogma Online is out today in Japan on PS4, PC and PS3 after going through some beta testing, and – as expected – there are a few tweaks that have been made to the game.
As it stand, Dragon’s Dogma Online hasn’t been given any official release date for the West, so this may seem a little redundant to most of our Western readers, but if the game does end up releasing over here (it will, trust us) it could give you a little insight into what to expect.
One of the main complaints from players is that it’s really difficult to progress due to enemies being a bunch of hard-cases that just won’t die. In fact, it’s not just a general thing, but it’s actually during the opening hours of the game that players are finding themselves in a rut of deaths. Thankfully, the game’s development team has found it within themselves to make things a little easier for players by reducing the levels of enemies that players will encounter earlier on in the game.
As Dragon’s Dogma Online is a free-to-play game, you can fully expect there to be instances where you’ll be at an advantage if you hand over some of your real-world cash, so it’s actually nice to see Capcom has taken the high road on this occasion by making it easier – even if it means potentially losing some money from frustrated players.
In a future update players can look forward to Warrior version 1.2 and Element Archer version 1.1 which will be added to the game later this year as new updates are rolled out in the autumn and again at the end of the year.
These are just a few of the updates coming to Dragon’s Dogma Online in Japan, so it’s not completely unreasonable to assume that the west will receive more or less the same support.
The launch trailer was released a couple of days ago, so check it out down below and let us know if you’re hopeful that this will come west. (It is coming, it’s only a matter of time.)
