Far Cry Primal was unveiled a couple of weeks ago, much to the surprise of everyone alive. Seriously, we all expected the next one to be Far Cry 5 or something, not a full-on standalone game set in pre-historic times. No guns, no phones, no internet. You wouldn’t think that’d make for an interesting game, would you?
Well, it turns out it is rather interesting and people seem to be quite excited for Ubisoft Montreal’s pre-era adventure. Obviously it’ll follow the Ubisoft standard open-world practices; climb this tree to open more of the map; go here and do this, then go to this place and do that. The usual, then. Still, the game’s setting is enough to get our attention.
We’re still not entirely sure if Far Cry Primal will be a full retail release or just a digital download, but Ubisoft has released the official cover-art for the game, so we’re gonna go ahead and predict that we’ll see this big-arse hairy elephant on store shelves next year.
[Update] Just to clarify: Far Cry Primal will be a fully retail release. There will be a disc, a box and a box sleeve. Standard stuff, then.
Far Cry Primal will release on PS4 and Xbox One on February 23rd while the PC release will trot along in March.
