Rayman Jungle Run
Price: £1.99
Side-scrolling greatness at it’s best is what you get for your cash here. The 2D sidescrolling is the smoothest we’ve seen on a smartphone, and arguably the best looking with the vibrant colours and crisp graphics, it just oozes simplicity. It’s not an easy one though, so if you have a tendency to throw your controller when you play on consoles, best give this a miss.
Farming Simulator 14
Price: £2.20
Ever wondered what it would be like to be a farmer? Wonder no more, Farming Simulator 14 is just what you need. The scaled down port of the PC version may not have all the features you’d find in the big-boy release, but there’s enough to keep you playing. It may seem like an odd game at first, but once you get into it and have invested some time into your farming, you struggle to let it go. Seriously. Typing this with one hand here.
Modern Combat 5: Blackout
Price: £4.99
No list of games would ever be complete without at least one first-person shooter, so here’s ours. Modern Combat 5 is basically Call of Duty on your phone, albeit a little different. The gunplay is quick and fast, with the touchscreen controls actually being decent for a change, though there auto-aim does aid you quite a bit. The story, whilst nothing spectacular is fun to play through, but it’s the online that holds the real value. Duking it out online in Squad vs. Squad matches is good fun, but be sure to get the upper hand by using a real controller, else you’re looking at one poor kill/death ratio.
