One thing that Nintendo fans have voiced their opinion on is the lack of backwards compatibility for the Wii U to run Gamecube games.
All is not lost, as the Wii U Virtual Console may be bringing with it some of the best known Gamecube titles.
Nintendo are yet to announce it, but the rumors around the web and within industry analysts suggest that an announcement confirming the rumor will come shortly before or after the release of the Wii U in November.
In practice this may seem like a great idea, and to some degree it is. New players will be able to experience old games that they never owned, and old players will be able to re-unite with their golden oldies.
However, the pricing will most likely be the main talking point, with digital downloads for last gen games already costing more than a used hard copy, owners of their original games may not be willing to fork out even more for the same game.
Maybe it may be cheaper in the long run to just get a cheap used Gamecube?
