We’ll open this story with another story from months and months ago. We speculated quite a while ago that Rockstar Games would move to release Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories on Android and iOS devices. It seemed reasonable enough at the time, given that Rockstar was pushing out mobile ports left, right, and centre.
Well, we were more or less right on the money: Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories has been rated by the PEGI ratings board for mobile devices. As we’ve said in the past, the ratings boards don’t usually certify anything that doesn’t exist, so we’re fairly certain we’ll be seeing this one rather soon. What’s more is that it’s now almost a certainty that we’ll see Vice City Stories ported to Android/iOS.
While it’s nice having the entire back-catalogue of older GTA games on mobile phones and tablets, it’s a shame that there’s no dedicated support for the PS Vita. Playing on a phone is nice and all, but the lack of physical buttons is nothing short of a pain in the arse. There. We’ve said it. Rockstar, pull you finger out.
