Many people were more than happy at what Hitman has to offer within the closed alpha, as word spread that the game had a lot of content as well as gave a smooth experience, but people couldn’t help but to notice that it was struggling in the area of performance optimization.
The testing of Hitman’s closed alpha begun as the PC enthusiasts and gamers alike took to seeing what Hitman was doing to their builds under the hood – and the reports were shocking. According to a video uploaded by Polaric90 Hitman was unable to hold a steady 60FPS at 1080p using a NVIDIA Titan X which keeping in mind this card has 12GB of VRAM and is one of the best graphics cards available for purchase on the market. The results seem to be showing Hitman running at what seems to be a stable 40FPS which may or may not be true as the tester (Polaric) did not reveal what CPU he was using.

Another alpha tester did the same test and the results were equally as shocking, as they were running a NVIDIA GTX 970 with a Intel i5-4670k maxed out turbo frequency of 3.9GHz and yet somehow Hitman was unable to get a stable 60FPS at 1080p. Instead, this test did worse and made for the game to run at around 30 FPS which is complete trash when comparing to the high-end hardware each of these testers are using.

Of course these tests could be just due to the alpha not being 100% optimized yet which is understandable since that is the entire point of an alpha, but we can’t jump the gun here and say it is just the alpha playing up because PC gamers don’t want another scenario like Batman: Arkham Knight on yet another on of their most anticipated games of the year.
Hitman is scheduled for release on December 8 2015 which is when we will see if the game is able to run a mere 60 FPS at 1080p, until then we can just hope and pray that it will.
