How To Take Out Mongrels And Use Mongrel Fur
Eliminating the canine beasts to get their Mongrel Fur in Hogwarts Legacy can be difficult for some. They will try to encircle you. Whenever they try to pounce, use Incendio as an area of effect attack. This will cause them to back off. Using a Mandrake as well is another way to keep these animals stunned and their sharp teeth away from your witch or wizard.
Once you eliminate the Mongrels, you’ll be able to pick up their fur from the ground. Make sure you don’t miss any by casting Revelio. They’ll pop up in your UI as gold.
If you don’t want to bother hunting mongrels, you can also buy Mongrel Fur from J. Pippin’s Potions in Hogsmeade for 50 Gold each. This is similar to Stench of the Dead. If you need more cash for ingredients, you can also sell your beasts from the Vivarium if you have any.
After you’ve gathered the Mongrel Fur in Hogwarts Legacy, head back to the Room of Requirement and get to your Potions table. You’ll now be able to make the Edurus Potion. All you’ll need is one Ashwinder Egg and of course one Mongrel Fur. If you need to find some Ashwinder Eggs quickly, run into the Vivarium and you’ll find some along the hills of the forest biome.
Press the cross button (A on Xbox) to confirm creating the Edurus Potion and in 30 minutes, you’ll have a vial ready to go.
