In addition, a handful of Pokemon from previous generations gained new evolutions in the Paldea region. Since they weren’t available in past games, these evolution methods naturally involve new moves and items that are exclusive to Paldea.
Here’s how to evolve some returning Pokemon for the first time in Scarlet and Violet:
- Dunsparce → level up while knowing the move Hyper Drill → Dudunsparce (There is a 1/25 chance that Dunsparce will evolve into Dudunsparce’s Three-Segment Form. Otherwise, it will be the Two-Segment Form.)
- Girafarig → level up while knowing the move Twin Beam → Farigaraf
- Pawniard → level 52 → Bisharp → level up after defeating three wild Bisharp that are leading a group of Pawniard and holding a Leader’s Crest → Kingambit
- Mankey → level 28 → Primeape → level up after using Rage Fist 20 times → Annihilape
