The Call of Duty series may now be older than some of it’s players, but it hasn’t stopped the maturing franchise from going onwards each and every year.
This year is no different, with Sledgehammer Games’ latest efforts being put in the firing line. After Call of Duty: Ghosts‘ slamming by the gaming press, Sledgehammer have a lot of work to do to re-invigorate the aging series.
However, this could be the year that change is finally instilled into Call of Duty. Call of Duty 2014 is being developed with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at the forefront, so expect Call of Duty 2014 to be a huge improvement over Ghosts.
Sledgehammer has also released a the first ever screenshot from the upcoming shooter as part of a panel at this year GDC. The screenshot supposedly comes from in game footage, but whether that’s from the PlayStation 4, Xbox One or PC version, we’ve no idea.
Check out the screenshot down below:
It’s not exactly breathtaking, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction.
