Update: We’ve received a few emails from readers suggesting that ‘Omaha’ may be Battlefield: Hardline and that the rating is for the upcoming shooter. It’s certainly a possibility, but as of right now we cant be sure, so take the following with a pinch of salt. EA may be attempting to get the game rated incognito. Sneaky style.
Visceral Games may be hard at work on a unannounced Star Wars game, but there’s also something else in the offing – something named ‘Omaha.’
This latest leak comes courtesy of the Australian ratings board which recently rated Omaha which comes from Dead Space developer Visceral Games and publisher Electronic Arts.
The rating for the game doesn’t offer that many clues as to the nature of the title, but it does mention strong themes of violence and drug use as well as some strong language and mild sexual themes. Interesting.
According to the ratings board, Omaha will be a multi-platform game that will feature online-connectivity, something that is more or less a given with games these days.
Interestingly, Battlefield: Hardline was frequently referred to as ‘Omaha’ during the announcement trailer, though it seems highly unlikely that the game will release as Omaha. That being said, maybe the multiplayer beta will release under that name? We can only speculate at the moment, which is sometimes more entertaining than the actually knowing.
Other than the above, there’s nothing else to report at this time. We’re sending emails and tweets to EA and Visceral with one hand whilst typing this with the other, we want to know what Omaha is just as much as you do! When we know more we’ll keep you updated.
