More LEGO?
As if there aren’t already enough LEGO games flooding the market, Warner Bros. have just announced that another will be on the shelves this year.
In development for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii U, Playstation Vita, Nintendo 3DS and the Nintendo DS, Lego Marvel Super Heroes is expected to release across all the aforementioned platforms in the Autumn of this year.
Warner Bros. seem quite happy with themselves after their latest announcement, and here’s what they have to say about their upcoming cash cow:
“Lego Marvel Super Heroes offers an original storyline in which Nick Fury calls upon Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man, Wolverine and other heroes spanning the Marvel Universe to save Earth from such threats as the vengeance of Loki and the hunger of Galactus, Devourer of the Worlds.”
As you may have noticed, I hold a sour thought for LEGO games. This wasn’t always the case, but since playing the LEGO games on the Playstation Vita, my opinion of the developers has changed and until they pull their fingers from their backside, I won’t be holding them in any high regard.
That aside, the LEGO games are generally pretty good on the consoles and PC, so expect this one to be just as much fun as previous entries into the series. Just don’t expect any innovation, the formula has remained the same for the last 8 years.
Personally, I think this’ll be an OK game, one you’ll play a bit to pass the time, but after what seems like 50 Lego games, my excitement is starting to dwindle and I know I’m not the only one.
Plus, Playstation Vita owners, don’t expect any better than previous LEGO games for the platform, though I would love it if they proved me wrong and put a full-blown port on the beastly handheld.
We can hope…
Looking forward to this one? What platform are you going to be buying it for? Let us know in the comments below.
