Confusion is abound whenever Metal Gear Solid is involved, whether it’s the complicated plots or the control scheme, confusion follows.
Now Konami and Kojima are looking to further confuse us with Metal Gear Solid 5 being split between two separate titles, Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain. Yeah…
According to an email to Siliconera from director of public relations Jay Boor, Ground Zeroes will serve as an introduction to Phantom Pain, an epilogue if you will.
“Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain are two separate games,” Boor emailed, “GZ will be a prologue to The Phantom Pain.”
From what I understand, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is the main game and Ground Zeroes is the introduction, leading into the events of the full game, think of it as Gran Turismo 5: Prologue and the full-blown Gran Turismo 5.
In the same email sent to Siliconera it was confirmed that Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain “is definitely 360 and PS3” but without any confirmation on individual SKU’s.
Long story shot, Konami and its golden egg Kojima are playing hard to get, teasing the details but not putting anything definitive into our hands, though there may be more details to come over the next few days, they can’t exactly keep it all a secret until release day. Or can they?
