4J Studios has been chiseling away at Minecraft, trying to get the game up to scratch for the release on the PS4, Xbox One and of course the handheld version for the PS Vita.
After failing to pass the certification tests with Sony, the PS4 version has been hit with a minor delay whilst 4J brought the game up to scratch, which they seem to have done rather quickly.
Posting on Twitter, the studio responsible for bringing the blocky adventure to consoles tweeted that Minecraft had been submitted for testing with Sony and that they’ll be handing over the Xbox One version to Microsoft at the end of the week. Certification can take up to two weeks to complete, so if all goes well you could be playing Minecraft on your PS4 and Xbox One within the next couple of weeks!
However, there is some bad news. PS Vita owners will have to hold tight for the time being as Minecraft for the PS Vita has yet to be submitted for testing.
The explained in a tweet:
“We have a bit more work to do on #MinecraftPSVita before we can hand it over to Sony. We’ll let you know when we hand it over.”
Whilst it’s disappointing to see the Vita version is delayed, it’s reassuring to know that 4J are working hard to get the multiple versions out and are keeping fans of the indie blockbuster informed every step of the way.
It’s also worth mentioning that you can expect a small update to be downloaded for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions. The update is needed to copy your current-gen creations over to your next-gen consoles!
