Cast your mind back to August of 2013 and you may remember a little title named ‘Flame Over’ being announced by Laughing Jackal, the same guys who brought us the gory OMG-Z for the PS3, PS Vita, PSP and PC.
Reel it in a bit and you may remember seeing a teaser trailer and the vague mention of an “early 2015” release date from the studio.
Well it seems that the release date may be just around the corner – Flame Over just got rated by the Australian board of classification.
Typically, once a game receives its rating, a release date shortly follows. Therefore, we’re expecting Laughing Jackal and Sony to set a date for Flame Over.
Flame Over places players in the brave boots of a fireman who must douse the flame within a procedurally generated London tower building. It’s a simple concept, out the fires, save the non-playable characters and march to victory with a cup of tea in tow.
Actually, it’s not quite so simple. There are multiple ways in which the fires can cause you to lose and once you die, you’re dead. No re-spawning. The game actually deletes itself if you die. That’s a lie, but that would be truly “roguelike” and would surely separate the men from the boys.
Looking forward to Flame Over? Or did you forget it even existed due to the lack of info from the developer? Leave your thoughts down below.
