Capcom’s upcoming futuristic thriller, Remember Me has finally gotten itself a solid release date, at last.
Coming this summer, Remember Me will be seeing a release on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, though if the game shifts enough copies, Remember Me may well just see a release on the next generations of home consoles, the PlayStation 4 and Microsoft’s next Xbox
Remember Me will be available on June 4th in North America, whilst the UK and Europe will have to wait a few days to get their mitts on the game, which releases over here on June 7th.
For those of you who are not in the know; Remember Me is a brand new intellectual property being developed by Capcom, along with Dontnod Entertainment, and could well turn into another franchise for the publisher. Remember Me has got all the goods you could wish for, from brutal melee combat, steady platforming, puzzles, exploration and much more that will keep you on your toes through the intriguing story.
Memory loss has often been ridiculed as a plot device for movies, but it’s rarely been used in video games. The plot revolves around Nilin (the female ‘memory hunter’ that you play as,) taking to the streets of Neo-Paris, which is in a very 1984-esque style of state control, with everything and everyone being watched. What’s more, Nilin is suffering from amnesia, so you’re basically a female Jason Bourne, taking to the streets of a future Paris (which is set in 2084, see the connection?) trying to find your way, whilst at the same time messing with other people’s memories.
Remember Me is looking to be an interesting new title, one I personally can’t wait to get my hands on, so long as Capcom isn’t pulling any of that ‘DLC on disc’ crap…
