Sunset Overdrive will be released to stores on October 28th and will be exclusively on Xbox One. Insomniac studio president Ted Price stated that Sunset Overdrive is “the biggest game” Insomniac has ever made. Not only in terms of map size but the actual content and things available within the map, including the huge variety of weapons, characters and ways to travel on the map.
It has also recently been announced that Sunset Overdrive will run in 900p at 30fps. Insomniac claims, “This is a game with a lot on the screen and we made the choice to be at 900 because we wanted to push the level of detail, action, the size of the city, and the views you can experience as (you) move around.”
This announcement upset a good amount of people who were anxious to play the greatly anticipated game. Some are claiming it’s a sign that the Xbox One will not be able to match the PlayStation 4 in terms of graphic intensity. Others are saying that it makes sense due to the immense amount of material within the game. Insomniac has released very popular games such as Ratchet and Clank, Resistance, and Spyro… so it is just odd to see a top company releasing a new game running inferior graphics.
Sunset Overdrive is expected to be very successful and the company is very hopeful, they have indicated they hope for it to be a new franchise.
You can get Sunset Overdrive from Amazon UK with the new Xbox One for just £329.99, bargain!
