The popular and critically acclaimed Gamecube title, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is being re-released exclusively for the Nintendo Wii U.
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD will feature, as the title suggests, HD graphics taking advantage of the Nintendo Wii U’s power, off-screen play with the GamePad and other features to enhance the overall experience.
Due to release later on this year, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD has come as a bit of surprise to all of us, with the majority of fans assuming that a new entry into the long standing series would be released before any HD remake.
This isn’t a bad thing, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker was a fantastic game on the good ol’ Nintendo Gamecube, and I’m almost certain it will be as much, if not more enjoyable on Nintendo’s latest home console, the Wii U.
Of course, there are also those that will mention that you can play The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker in HD on your PC via the Gamecube and Nintendo Wii emulator Dolphin.
Personally, I like to replay this one at least once a year, sometimes more. the cel-shaded graphics are the biggest draw and the gameplay is still strong, even today. If you’re a Wii U owner, I recommend this one without any hesitation.
