Some games struggle to become multi-million sellers, heck, just look at the PS Vita. There’s plenty of goodness to go around but even the best of the best only manage to find their way into the palms of a few million at best.
So it comes a bit of a surprise to learn that Nintendo has managed to shift a staggering 10.5 million of their Amiibo toys to little boys and girls around the world. Who are we kidding, adults love them too.
“Amiibo that was released as a new category products, at the time of the end of the fiscal year, shipments of all the world total has reached about 10.5 million units,” Nintendo said in a recent press release.
The firm go on to state that around two-thirds of the Amiibo shipments have been to North America with the remaining third being shipped around the world.
Crikey. That must be putting some serious cash in the Nintendo bank.
