It’s been a long road, but Persona 5 Royal has finally arrived on all platforms. For some of you, this may be your first experience with the series, so you might feel overwhelmed by P5R’s heavy emphasis on time management and self-directed playstyle. However, there are some recommendations for what you should be focusing on every day to bolster your Phantom Thief efforts. With that in mind, we have developed this daily activities guide for Persona 5 Royal to help you get started with your long adventure.

Confidants

Early in the story, you are introduced to Confidants (formerly known as Social Links in Persona 3 and Persona 4) – one of the game’s most important and necessary mechanics. Confidants can be ranked up by spending time with a specific character and doing so will unlock bonus features to optimise your experience exploring the Metaverse. For instance, levelling up a party member’s Confidant will unlock additional skills, such as increasing your chances of successfully negotiating with a shadow.
However, it’s also important to focus on non-party member Confidants, as you can unlock additional recovery items, and even the ability to swap out characters in battle. Also, it’s worth mentioning that you will want to bring a Persona of the matching Confidant’s arcana to boost the number of relationship points you receive when interacting with them. Obviously, not all Confidants will be available on a singular day, so you will need to design a schedule for the most optimal playstyle.
SP Items and Yakisoba Pan

At the start of each week, SP recovery items will be available for purchase from specific vending machines in Tokyo. These can be found in the Shujinn Academy Courtyard, the Yogen-Jaya Backstreets next to the Washing Machines, and in the Central Street Arcade. Despite only recovering 5SP per use, these items can quickly be stockpiled if you do this at the start of every week. SP is very scarce in the early game, so you will want to make sure you’re taking advantage of these items.
In a similar way, an item called Yakisoba Pan can also be purchased every Friday from the Shujin Academy store. It recovers 50HP upon use, making it a worthwhile and affordable item in the earlier sections of the game.

The Juice Stand

On Sundays, Fruit Juice can be purchased from the Juice Stand on the Shibuya Underground Walkway. The type of Juice is different every week and increases a random Social Stat. This is an excellent way to consistently level up your stats without passing an entire day or evening. However, Joker doesn’t seem to enjoy the taste…
Explore Mementos
Out of all of the advice we have provided here, exploring Mementos should be your lowest priority, especially in the earlier sections of the game. Persona 5 Royal does give you some extra time to complete Confidants and other fun stuff, but attaining a perfect schedule is still a somewhat difficult challenge. That being said, if you feel like you could do with some extra EXP for upcoming palaces, exploring the randomly generated dungeons of Mementos is a good shout.
Social Stats

In every Persona game since Persona 3, Social Stats have been this deep systemic gameplay mechanic that connects with pretty much everything in the game. For instance, certain Confidants will require you to have a specific stat to initiate ranking them up. Ann Takamaki is an excellent example of this, as her Confidant can’t be properly activated until you reach Level 2 Kindness.
Here are some of the best ways to level up each stat:
All Stats – Read Books, Spending time with Confidants, The Juice Stand, Watch Films, Play Games, Part Time Jobs, & More.
Knowledge – Study In Leblanc, the School Library, or Diner.
Proficiency – Craft Infiltration Tools In Leblanc, Work At The Beef Bowl Shop, Batting Cages.
Kindness – Look after your bedroom plant, clean Leblanc.
Charm – Do well in your exams, take a bath at the Bathhouse, dodge the chalk in Class.
Guts – Study in the School Library with lots of students around, complete the Big Bang Burger Challenge.
With this daily activities guide, your life as both a Phantom Thief and High School student in Persona 5 Royal should be slightly easier. Although we have provided some recommendations, P5R is designed to ensure that player freedom is a core element of the overall experience. Ultimately, you can play the game how you want, but you will want to take advantage of some of the tips we have provided in this guide.
You can now purchase Persona 5 Royal on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. It is also available via Xbox Game Pass.
