The PS4 and Xbox One promised a whole new era of gameplay and fancy graphics and for the most part we’re satisfied. It’s still early on in their respective life-cycles yet we’ve already been impressed by the likes of Killzone: Shadowfall, Assassin’s Creed: Unity, Forza Horizon 2 and many more, thanks to the power under the hood of the PS4 and Xbox One.
That said, Uncharted 4 is looking to be the game that really drives home just how far we’ve come since the release of the PS3 and Xbox 360, a showpiece to really let the gaming world know that we’ve entered a new generation of gaming and that there’s more to come.
Take a look at the image below which comes from Naughty Dog’s Senior Character artist.
Notice anything? No. Well they’re low-resolution real-time renders of Uncharted 4’s character Nathan Drake, well more specifically, his clothing.
Notice how good they look despite being “low-res”? They easily outstrip what’s currently on offer with the PS3 and Xbox 360.
Crazy stuff.
What do you reckon? Do we place too much emphasis on graphics these days? Or not enough? Let us know down in the comments section below.
