Quantic Dreams’ thrillers will be making the jump from PS3 all the way to the shiny new PS4 early next year, though not much is known about the collection and how it will improve on the original releases.
It’s expected that the collection, which will include Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls, will release before next summer. The studio officially announced the collection over on the PlayStation Blog a few weeks ago, but no dates or prices were given, though it was teased that we’d hear more soon and that both games would be benefiting from a graphical upgrade.
Amazon France (it’s available to pre-order) hasn’t given the product page an image as of yet, but it has listed the game as being only 49€. Most games releasing in Europe cost around 59.99€ in comparison, so it looks like we’ll be getting our hands on a cheap, but no so cheerful collection. Seriously, those games can reduce grown men to buckets of tears. There’s also a release date of January 31st attached, but we’re guessing that’s a simple placeholder. Expect the UK and North American prices to be a little different as the currency conversion rate doesn’t always translate so well; but we fully expect this one to go for around £39.99/$39.99.
It’s been speculated that Quantic Dream will be in attendance at this year’s Paris Games Week, so perhaps we’ll hear more and possibly even see more of the collection running on the PS4. It’s plausible, too; the developer is based in Paris so it’s simply a case of Assassin’s Creed-ing it over the rooftops to the show, right?
