Wipeout, who?
34BigThings and Saber Interactive have released a brand new gameplay trailer today for the upcoming Redout 2 – an anti-gravity racing game that’s not unlike the fan favourite Wipeout or F-Zero X.
The new trailer gives us a look at some of the game’s 72 (36 originals that can be doubled by playing in reverse) winding tracks as the anti-gravity racing ships race by at over 1,000 km/h. The trailer states that Redout 2 is the “fastest game in the universe” and that might just be the case, but will it translate that feeling between the player’s hands and the action on-screen? Hopefully, it will, because it seems neither Nintendo nor Sony seem interested in bringing their respective anti-gravity racers back from the dead any time soon, sadly.
Redout 2 will feature an extensive campaign mode, online multiplayer for up to 12 players on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. On Nintendo Switch, the online multiplayer has been stripped back to six competitors. The bright side here is that if you’re crap, you’re only the sixth-worst player instead of being the dud out of 12. Always look on the bright side, right?
Redout 2 doesn’t have a release date as of yet, but it’s slated to hit PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch sometime later this year.
