Have you heard of Scraps: Modular Vehicle Combat? No? Why not? Too many questions? Okay.
Scraps: Modular Vehicle Combat has been released on Steam via the platform’s Early Access program. As one could guess from the game’s title, it’s all about vehicle combat, but that’s not all.
No, the game doesn’t just chuck you in any old engine and send you on your way and be done with it. No, Scraps lets you build your own car, but not just with some light modifications that we see in many racers these days (though Scraps certainly isn’t a racer), but instead you can actually build whatever you want. It’s pretty mental to see it in action.
The game plays out quite a bit like the old Vigilante-8 games of the PS1 and N64 era, except you can build you own hulking monster of a machine. Players battle it out in arenas either online, via LAN or just against the AI bots that are included in single-player.
It looks the bomb, but we’ve yet to give it a go. We should be able to post our first impressions in the next couple of days, so be sure to keep an eye out here on The Games Cabin.
Scraps: Modular Vehicle Combat is out now on Steam and is supported on PC, Mac, and Linux. Impressive considering most of the game was built by one New Zealander. Maybe he found some special ring that helped…
The game is out on Early Access for the reduced price of $9.75 until October 5th.
Does Scraps look like the sort of game you could get into? Would you be up for building the ultimate death machine only to see it blown to bits by some snotty internet nerd? Let us know down below.
