Earlier today Sony announced over on the PlayStation Blog that Uncharted 4 will be releasing on March 18th, 2016. The platform holder and publisher also revealed three special editions of the game, two of which are physical with the remaining one being a digital edition that comes with a few bonuses.
One thing that immediately sent alarm bells ringing for our Canadian cousins is that Sony didn’t state a Canadian price for the Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Libertalia Edition.
The Libertalia Edition is probably the best value as it comes packed with goodies; one of which is a pretty smart looking Nathan Drake figurine. Sony’s David Bull has since clarified that this particular edition won’t be releasing in Canada. Sorry guys, eh?
Another issue that arouse with the announcement of the steelbook editions is that some (including this keyboard tapper) just don’t like storing games in the metal containers. They look good, but some prefer the traditional Blu-Ray casings. Unfortunately (for some) each of the physical special editions will only have the steelbook case, according to Bull.
“The special/collector’s edition will only have the steelbook case with the disc inside, and lemme tell you: it looks gooooood. :)”
Before Uncharted 4 releases we still have the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection to go through – but with it being three games in one package, will it still have three platinums? Bull states that the remastered trilogy will have three platinums to go for, but there’s no word on if they’re any different to the orginal trophies.
