Splatoon 3 Splatfest World Premiere: What’s A Splatfest?
Splatfests are special events where Inklings duke it out to settle lighthearted questions such as “Cats or Dogs?” or “Rock, Paper, or Scissors?”.
For the first time, Splatfests in Splatoon 3 feature three teams. Prior to the start of a Splatfest, also known as the Sneak Peek period, you’ll cast your vote, effectively picking a team to support. You can also earn conch shells by battling during Sneak Peek, impacting the final results.
The Splatfest Main Event is split into two halves. The first half consists of regular Turf Battles against the opposing teams. The second half begins with a Halftime Report and the arrival of the Tricolour Turf War. This brand-new mode pits four players from the leading team against two players from each of the trailing teams in a 4v2v2 battle. Throughout both halves of the Splatfest Main Event, you’ll gain Clout based on wins, losses, and points.
At the conclusion of a Splatfest, the final results are announced, and points are awarded based on total votes, conch shells collected during Sneak Peek, and individual Clout earned via Splatfest Battles and Tricolour Turf Wars. When it’s all said and done, Splatfest participants are gifted Super Sea Snails based on their contributions, and the winning team will get some extra for their efforts.
Be one of the very first to try out Splatoon 3 when the Splatoon 3 Splatfest World Premiere goes live on August 27 at 9am BST.
There are all sorts of Splatoon 3 maps and modes to look forward to in this long-anticipated addition to the Splatoon series.
