If you’re jumping into Splatoon 3, you’ll need to know how to use a Tri-Stinger. The Tri-Stinger is a brand new weapon type arriving in Splatoon 3, which is exciting for players looking to test out new gear. However, the way it operates is quite different to the other weapons available in Splatoon 3. Let’s take a look at how to use a Tri-Stinger in Splatoon 3.
- Here are all of the Splatoon 3 characters.
Splatoon 3 Tri-Stinger: Overview
Here is an overview of the three different ways that the Tri-Stinger can be used in Splatoon 3:
- Basic Tri-Shop
- Press the fire button once to instantly fire three shots in a horizontal pattern.
- Hold the fire button shortly before releasing to converge the shots closer together. The longer you hold the trigger, the closer together the shots will be.
- Jumping Tri-Sho
- Jump before firing the Tri-Shot to fire the weapon projectiles in a vertical pattern.
- Vertical shorts deal more damage if all of the projectiles hit their target.
- Charged Tri-Shot
- Press and hold the fire button to initiate a charged Tri-Shot attack.
- When charging a shot, the crosshair will show when you have attained one charge. Releasing the trigger after one charge fires shots at a further distance. They also explode shortly after impact.
- Holding the fire button down for longer will attain a second crosshair charge. This will fire the projectiles even further.
- Here’s everything you need to know about Splatoon 3 weapons, gear, and customisation.
Overall, this new weapon class provides players with plenty of new options to experiment with during combat. Especially in PvP matches, players will need to assess which firing pattern will best suit their situation and execute accordingly.
There is currently only one weapon in the Tri-Stinger weapon class. However, it’s expected that more Tri-Stinger weapons will be added to Splatoon 3 soon.
