The weekly round of up of what’s hot and what’s not has been released by major Japanese retailer Tsutaya.
This week’s top seller in overall is once again Nintendo’s Splatoon after seeing a very healthy release in Japan as well as here in the West, so that’s a second week on top for the inklings.
Second place goes to Stella Glow on the New 3DS while the third spot is taken by a PS Vita game. Yes, an actual PS Vita game is ranking high in sales. The game? Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer. Yeah, we’ve never heard of it either…
The Witcher 3 is still doing quite nicely, too, as it occupies the fourth spot overall while it’s still the number one PS4 game in the land of the rising sun.
Other notable games in the top twenty include Minecraft for PS Vita, the standalone expansion Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, Final Fantasy X-X2, Bravely Second from Square Enix, and Super Smash Bros for the 3DS.
Unfortunately no Xbox One games ranked high enough to get into the top twenty charts, but it’s not that surprising as Microsoft’s Xbox One has struggled to gain favour with the Japanese gamers, despite knocking the price down. Maybe some cheeky announcements at this year’s E3 from the Microsoft camp will boost the console’s fortunes in Japan? We’ll have to wait and see.
