Street Fighter V’s PS4 beta didn’t exactly go to plan last month. Instead of allowing eager players to punch random strangers over the internet, the beta caused massive outrage as it just didn’t work properly.
The next round of beta testing of Capcom’s PS4 version of the game is set to commence very shortly, and, in preparation for the thousands of players who will be trying to access the beta, the beta client has been updated to version 1.02. The patch notes state that the client has been updated to improve logging in and matchmaking, but we’ll have to wait and see if this truly is the case.
For the time being Capcom is currently running some internal tests to make sure the servers don’t buckle and die once players attempt to log in. Capcom has promised that more information on the beta will be coming “soon.”
Street Fighter V will release on the PS4 and PC sometime early 2016. Until then we’ll have a couple more rounds of beta testing.
