Remasters have been releasing almost as regularly as original games since the release of the PS4 and Xbox One, but around here we’re not too bothered by them; they provide a great way for people to play some classic games that they might have missed due to not having the console the game was released on. Simple.
One of the highest rated remasters happens to also be this author’s favourite release in recent months: Tearaway Unfolded. It was a truly cracking experience on the PS Vita, but unfortunately it just didn’t do all that well on the struggling platform, so as a way for Sony to recoup some of its development costs, it commissioned a PS4 version for a wider release.
As far as remasters go, Tearaway Unfolded is more of a remake; entire levels had been changed around to accommodate the missing input methods that are only achievable on the PS Vita. It worked well and it looked great. Unfortunately it still released a little high in price at $39.99, though it’s going for a full 75 euros in some European countries. The good news is that Amazon has recently slashed its price down to a very palatable $19.99, so there’s really no reason not to try it. Well, actually, if you’re not a fan of platformer, you’ll probably wanna stick with Black Ops 3 and Battlefront…
If you’re a UK resident or European, you can get the game even cheaper than your North American brethren. Amazon.de is flogging the special edition of the game for 9.99 (euros) with free delivery. For UK cheapskates this works out to be a few pennies north of £10. Not. Bloody. Bad.
And if you’re not fluent in German (warum nicht?!) then you have nothing to fear as 99% of all European games have the original English language on the disc. Wunderbar!
