The Vanishing of Ethan Carter pushed the limits of Epic’s Unreal Engine 4, and now the creators of the thriller are back at it again. The team is currently working on a new open world action-adventure game. This game is said to be much more ‘real,’ not so much exploring like The Vanishing of Ethan Carter was. So we can hope for a really in-depth character-building game that will surely shock us with the deep, atmospheric storytelling that The Astronauts is known for.
This news comes from a recent job posting by The Astronauts looking for an AI programmer that can “rig up a decent AI with the stuff the Unreal Engine 4 offers.” From this, we can assume that this new game is going to be powered by Epic’s Unreal Engine 4.
Check out the text of The Astronauts’ job offer, translated from its original post:
“We are doing a new game and it’s an open world action-adventure. It’ll be rad, but of course we are not going to bite off more than we can chew right away. Anyway, as suggested by the description, this will be more of a real game than an explorer like Ethan. Although it will still have heavy atmosphere and deep narrative, it won’t do without men and creatures trying to kill you.”
