Creative Assembly gave us our first look at in-game assets for their highly anticipated title Total War: Warhammer in a new trailer today.
If you are a big fan of the Warhammer genre, check out this Total War Warhammer 3 Review from our friends over at Age of Miniatures.
The video which you can find below focuses on Karl Franz the Emperor of the human faction leading his troops as they do battle with the Orks/”Greenskins.” The scene shows off several units including a unit of Demigryphs we got a closer look at earlier this week.
The detail on the different units looks to have come along quite nicely but the consistent close-ups on units and blurry backgrounds draws attention to the clearly unfinished environmental details. The trailer did have a disclaimer stating this was showing a work in progress, however it does draw up concerns on the unannounced launch date of the game.
Creative Assembly has been scrutinized the last couple of years after releasing Rome II in a broken state and worries over the quick push to Attila. Attila has been praised on its solid campaign but the unbalanced and neglected multiplayer has been criticised on their forums. After these troubles a lot of fans and consumers questioning CA’s next move.
If Creative Assembly announced a release date of Q4 2016 or later is would assuage a lot of potential concerns on problematic launches but still doesn’t resolve the questions on why CA is pushing out titles so quickly now.
Past problems or not the new trailer looks very promising and the trailer gives us another video to look forward to on the July 30th with a more in-depth walk through by developers.
We will be sure to follow-up on this story as more information and videos become available.
