In New World, as you level up through a region, you will get choices of territory standing upgrades. You may be wondering what are the best territory standing cards to pick in New World? Here we break down the best to worst territory standing cards in New World.
It is worth noting, you can’t really go wrong with your card choices. These are not definitive tiers and they may differ depending on how you play the game. For example, if you really like to gather, maybe gathering speed is up higher on your personal tier list. Here we break out overall, our opinion on the best to word territory standing choices in New World.
Some Opening Notes
Diminishing Returns
For the most part, each time you choose a card, the next level of the card will give less of a boost. The majority of upgrades have diminishing returns. This means that for the first card you will get a staggering 5%, but at 28 you’ll only get 0.1%. The storage and housing cards are the only exception here. With a maximum level of 300 per territory, you will have plenty of points to invest in the 6 diminishing upgrades.
S-Tier – Best Card Choices
Storage Capacity – Territory Standing Card
The Storage Capacity card in New World is the bar-none absolute best card to choose. Every single time it pops up, always take this territory standing card. This gives you a permanent increase to your storage limit by 25 each upgrade, for your storage shed in the region. Every New World player knows that storage and max weight is a huge issue in New World and something you will constantly be battling. Extra storage helps at literally every stage of the game in New World; it is the gift that keeps on giving.
House Items Card in New World
The House Items territory standing card in New World is a more rare card you may come across. This is great if you plan on filling your houses with items. It especially is good because it is a permeant gain you will always have and will always be beneficial to you if you put the right items in your house. This will also depend on how much you enjoy the housing part of New World. Items in your houses can be extremely helpful, especially trophies that give luck to gathering professions, like these for example:
A-Tier – Good Cards
Station Fee – Territory Standing New World
Station Fee will decrease your crafting fee by a certain, scaling, percentage each time you choose this card, for the given region in New World. This is a good card to choose specifically if you want to make this region your crafting hub. Try to choose one region where you stack as many of these cards as you can in order to use it as your main crafting region.
Trading Tax – Territory Standing New World
Similar to the station fee, the Trading Tax card will decrease your trading tax at the Trading Post by a certain, scaling, percentage each time you choose this card, for the given region in New World. This is a good card to choose specifically if you want to make this region your trading hub. Try to choose one region where you stack as many of these cards as you can in order to use it as your main Trading Post region.
Gathering Speed Territory Standing Card
The Gathering speed card will in increase your gathering speed by a certain, scaling, percentage each time you choose this card, for the given region in New World. This can be a great card for regions you expect to gather excessively in. If you expect to be gathering a ton on your character in New World, you will likely have this high on your list of priority cards. Choose wisely and pick these cards in regions you expect you will be gathering a lot.
It may also help you to run to a node and gather faster than another player you are competing with to get resources!
Standing Gain Territory Card
Standing Gain is worth taking for most regions for at least a few of your upgrades. There are 100 levels of territory standing for each region, so there are a lot of upgrades to go around and a lot to unlock. Taking some points in this will allow you to rack up your unlocks quicker.
B-Tier – OK Cards
Property Tax – Territory Standing New World
The property tax card can help you save on gold expenses later down the road when you have a house in this region. Usually given the other cards it will be paired with to choose from, you are probably better off choosing the other cards.
Faction Token Card – New World Territory Standing
The Faction Token card is borderline F-Tier in our eyes. It is relatively easy to earn tokens by spamming quests already, and there are just so many better choices out there. However, in the higher level zones, you certainly can pick these from time to time.
Why pick the faction token card in New World you ask? Well, faction missions in each region will scale with the level of that region. So if you are picking these cards up in the early game in Windsward for example, by the time you are a higher level, you won’t be focusing on Windsward as a farming area for your faction quests. You will likely be in the higher level zones as they will reward much higher XP and token. So if you pick this in a higher level area, you are more likely to be able to benefit for a longer term.
F-Tier – Don’t Pick These!
Experience Gain Territory Card
Never, ever, take the XP gain card in New World after the very first upgrade. You can take it once, but the diminishing returns hit this card hard. This is the main trap for a lot of new players. You never get to re-choose your cards, so every card you choose is with you forever. Once you hit max level, this card will have absolutely no value to you anymore. Unless you are in a race for the world first level 60 (which come on, we know you aren’t because you probably wouldn’t need to read this guide), then every other card choice is always better.
