Who is the Fuecoco evolution in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet? Thanks to early leaks, we have information about what the next stages in the evolutionary line look like for Paldea’s Fire Croc Pokemon. Here’s an overview of each Fuecoco evolution in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Fuecoco Evolution: Crocalor
The mid-stage evolution of the Fuecoco line is named Crocalor. Like its pre-evolution, Crocalor’s name is derived from Spanish. Fuecoco’s name is a portmanteau of “fuego” and “cocodrilo” the Spanish words for fire and crocodile, respectively. Meanwhile, Crocalor’s name is a combination of crocodile and “calor,” the Spanish word for heat.
Crocalor has a similar appearance to its pre-evolution. While it is slightly longer, Crocalor is still just about as chubby as Fuecoco. Most notably, there appears to be an egg seated in a nest on top of Crocalor’s head. This nest also doubles as a flaming sombrero.
Fuecoco Evolution: Skeledirge
The final evolution of Fuecoco in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is named Skeledirge. Its name comes from two English words, skeleton and dirge. Skeledirge has a longer and more slender body, with flames spewing out of the sides of its mouth. The Fire/Ghost-type also fittingly has more white on its head, causing it to resemble a skull.
In addition, the egg from Crocalor’s sombrero nest has hatched into a flaming bird that rests on Skeledirge’s snout. Although it is classified as the Singer Pokemon, Skeledirge is really more of an instrument. The flaming bird that accompanies it is able to play the colorful strips on its snout in order to make music.
Skeledirge was the first of the fully-evolved starter Pokemon from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to start making the rounds online. However, pictures of the evolutions of Quaxly and Sprigatito have since begun to circulate as well, giving us a solid look at what each of Paldea’s starter evolutionary lines look like in full.
