A new report from Nikkei indicates Nintendo’s plans to stop the production of the Wii U in the end of 2016. In fact, as the report sugests, Nintendo already stopped production of some of the console’s accessories. There’s no word on games, but we expect Nintendo to still produce software for the Wii U even after NX launchs, whenever it does.
If Wii U production will come to an end by the end of this year, we wonder what’s coming after (or when it is coming). There’s still no official word from the Big N, and while we can’t know for sure that the NX is releasing this year, the paper from Nikkei does confirm more details will be unveiled later this year.
2) Acc. to the paper, some Wii U accessories are already not being produced anymore. Nintendo plans to deplete inventory this year. //end

Just to clarify: The Nikkei doesn't rule out that Nintendo will sell NX this year. They are also confirming it will be unveiled though.
